Joe was never a man who liked to keep his feet in one place. On any given weekend, you might find him on the open road driving his RV up and down the East Coast, spending the weekend at the hunt lodge, or heading South with the family. Naturally, when Joe started making homemade sauces to bring to family camping trips, it wasn't long before what started as a hobby turned into a full-blown passion. Now, Joe has his sights set on making the very best original recipe, small-batch specialty barbecue sauces for chicken, pork, beef, burgers, ribs and more.
Joe's first sauce, which we lovingly referred to as "Joe Joe's Hog Sauce," was the predecessor of today's Carolina Sauce. It wasn't long before the kitchen called Joe's name again and he added Sweet 'N' Tangy and the fruit-based Blackberry barbecue sauce to the weekly family cookouts. As more and more sauces were added to the catalogue, "Joe Joe's Hog Shack" was born and the family was officially hooked. So too were neighbors, friends, coworkers — basically everybody who has ever had Joe's pulled pork.
Today, Joe Joe's Hog Shack is a Maryland-based, family-ran barbecue maker in stores and at events all across the region. Our family is proud to offer our favorite sauces to you and your family.
